I know people usually write these kind of posts earlier in the year, but is it just me or did January fly by? I feel like I barely had time to think. However now, on this cold February evening on my day off I’m sat on my bed feeling fed up and unproductive. Therefore I though I would write down some goals that I can actively work towards throughout the year to come.

Travelling is the main goal of 2017 for me, it is something I have never had the chance to do much in my childhood therefore I made the decision to take a gap year after my A Levels. This goal is already being achieved with my short trip to Paris in January and an exciting, lightly longer trip planned in a months time!

All the money I am currently earning is going towards my travel; however when I return I really want to spend my money in a more focused and meaningful way. Such as investing in classic clothes that may have more of a hefty price tag, but will fit me well and last for a much longer time.

I constantly worry about what other people think of me, and not wanting to upset them. And sometimes this has gotten me into more trouble and possibly upset the person’s feelings more than if I had just been honest and said no in the first place. There is a lot of focus in our society on saying “yes” more, but sometimes saying “no” is equally as important.

There are so many amazing artists out there that I need to see. Some people at the top of my list at the moment are The Wombats, Kings Of Leon and Lana Del Rey. I would also love to see some old favourites again, such as Catfish and the Bottlemen and The 1975.

This goal terrifies me since I am and always have been a bit of a home girl. But I can’t stay here forever and this goal also looks likely to be achieved due to 5 offers from the universities I applied for in January. This quiet Northerner lass is moving to London in September! Something that hasn’t quite sunken in yet haha.

Lots of love,

Hannah xx
